How to Write a Blog for Beginners: Easy, Step-by-step Guide

Blogging can be confusing for beginners, but's it's really not as difficult as you think. Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can write your first blog, and post it, in less than an hour! All kinds of people blog, and with this guide, you will be able to blog too!

1. Title you blog "10 reasons to___" fill in the blank.

That's the easiest way to start a blog, for beginners, because it gives you blanks to fill in, rather than just working from scratch. Also, there are many people who prefer to read "listacles" rather than regular blogs.

2. Open "Word "program and list the reasons.

List the first 10 reasons that come to mind. If you can think of more than 10, that's great! It's okay to stop after 8 or 9, but try as hard as you can to make it to 10!

3. Add an introduction paragraph to the top.

It does not have to be that long. Just talk a little bit about, what the blog is about. Four sentences should be enough,

4. Type the word "Conclusion" at the end of your blog.

You don't have to write your conclusion paragraph, yet, just type the word "conclusion" at the bottom. You will get back to it later.

5. Now you have a worksheet!

Go to each reason, and write two or three paragraphs, giving an explanation of the reasons.
One paragraph should be enough to get your point across. If you can make it longer than that, it's even better. Even if your reason sounds self explanatory, it's still good to include at least a sentence or two. If you are not sure what to write for one reason, skip it and work on the other reasons, and come back to it later.

6. Under the word "conclusion," summarize the blog in your own words.
Write your overall opinion on the subject. Also, invite people to comment and suggest they come back for future posts!

7. Don't forget to grammar and spell check!
Some blogging platforms have spell check, but not all of them, so make sure you spell check before publishing! You will lose alot of credibility if you have misspelled words or incorrect grammar.

8. Add pictures, but not too many.
Having no pictures is boring, but if you have to many pictures, it will look cluttered and it will be hard to navigate. I recommend adding one picture to the beginning, one in the middle,  and one at the end.

9. Save the file.
Save the file in three places: your computer folder, a usb stick, and also, email a copy to yourself. it's important to save it in more than one place, in case your computer crashes or you delete it by mistake.

10. Bold all your reasons.
You don't need to make use a larger font, a different font, or a different color. Just bolding is sufficient. Keep your color scheme simple. A white background with black Ariel font is what most of your readers will prefer.

11. Create an account on blogger.com and post!
I've used many blogging platforms, but I have found blogger.com to be the best one!

12. Promote your post!
You can promote using twitter, face book, or even tell your friends in real life about it. You can also google, "ways to promote my blog." Promote your blog daily. There are a lot of ways to promote your blog, so get creative!
12. Repeat!

Create another topic, now, another  list of reasons and do the same thing. With each blog you write, the process will get easier and easier.

Conclusion-
Blogging might look difficult, but it is actually pretty easy. Once you finish writing your first post you will be so proud of yourself, and you will want to keep going. You don't have to be a pro right away, but if you build just a little bit, everyday, eventually you will have a skyscraper!
