When you think about having a good time and enjoying life, what do you think about? Do you think about the nightlife? Bars, clubs, and house parties? Open bars, wild nights, and just being crazy? If that's what you think about, it's a good chance the media probably programmed you to think that way. The media does a good job of convincing women, the only way to enjoy yourself and let loose is by being a party girl. But talk to those same party girls at 40, and they will probably be telling a different story. Lots of fun, lots of good memories, but no long term rewards. Now they are aging, with no real accomplishments in life. So how do they cope? By having another drink.

If you want to have a happy life, you can't get to caught up in the party scene. You can't think of it as the only way to have a good time. The media will lie to you, to try to keep you ignorant. So here are 8 tips to remember for when the media tries to get in your head. Use these tips, to enjoy life, without the need for excessive partying.
1. Look your best daily.
No matter what your plans are for the day, it's important to take pride in your appearence. Makeup, hair, and clothes should be on point daily. You don't need a reason to look beautiful. Looking in the mirror and liking what you see should be reason enough.
2. Take care of your body.
Work out and watch your diet. You hear it all the time. You know you should listen. But you ignore it and drink and party instead. That is not helping you. Instead, listen to that voice inside you that wants to be in good health, because honestly, the voice is never going to shut up, until you listen to it. You will be happy you listened when you see a hot body looking back at you in the mirror.
3. Do what you love.
This doesn't mean you need to turn what you love to do into a career. Instead, if you love to sing, do karaoke. If you love to paint, paint pictures, just for fun. If you aren't sure what you like to do, just try lots of things that interest you until something sticks.
4. Help others.
It can be really easy to get wrapped up in yourself and your own needs, but try to do at least one thing a day to help someone else. You will be so happy when you see how much they appreciate it.
5. Accept that its ok for life to be simple sometimes.
The media teaches us that if you stay home on a Friday night, you are boring. If you aren't constantly surrounded by friends, it means nobody likes you. That's not true. Not every night is going to be legendary. Sometimes you are just going to stay home, watch Netflix and pass out around 11. That's perfectly fine.
7. Don't run from your problems.
If you have a serious problem in your life, face it. Try to solve it. Hiding from it will only make is worse. Trying to drown your problems in alcohol will only help temporarily. I'm sure you've heard all these cliches in high school, but they are true!
8. Love yourself first.
Say no to peer pressure. Figure out who you are, what your values are, and don't let anyone take away your self esteem. Once you are comfortable with who you are, you will be very surprised with how much happier you will be! Conclusion
I hope these tips help you. I was once convinced that they only way to have a good time was by partying, but now i know better. Life is so much better when it has real meaning. So take life seriously, because life is so much more than one huge party!
